About Chameleon Parking Sensor Services

Chameleon was established in 1989 with the creation of Nationwide Cellular Fit (NCF) fulfilling a niche in the market offering a truly nationwide installation service. NCF quickly grew to become the largest hands-free car kit installation company in Europe. Now after holding that distinguished position for more than two decades, Chameleon has grown to encompass a range of associated services to more than 100,000 customers per annum, completing our 1,500,000th installation in December 2007. Chameleon differs from other installation companies in so far as it offers a unique corporate guarantee to all its customers – a single price, wherever the location (within mainland UK), whatever the time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Chameleon's engineering workforce of 100+ experienced engineers all work to the industry standard FCS1362 Code of Practice. Chameleon is also a founder member of the FCS Silver Award Scheme promoting high quality standards throughout the industry.

In order to support continuing growth in the market place, Chameleon purchased one of the UK’s leading specialist suppliers of hands-free car kit solutions (Codewing). Chameleon is now considered one of the largest suppliers of hands- free car kits in the country. In addition to hands-free car kits Chameleon can supply a host of ancillary equipment including a range of antennae, non-damaging installation brackets and audio integration leads. With the advent of legislation in 2004 relating to the use of mobile phones in vehicles, the importance of compliant high quality hands-free solutions has never been more important. Chameleon has direct contractual relationships with amongst others Parrot, Bury Technologies and Motorola.

In addition, Chameleon also lead the field in the supply and installation of in-car audio/dvd systems, security, tracking, alarms, reversing sensors and satellite navigation. Indeed, an exciting new enterprise has involved the launch of Chameleon Asset Track, which, through a self-managed IT portal service, provides on-line vehicle tracking and a full range of vehicle activity reports. This allows both the small and large business to manage their company fleet vehicles in a more effective and productive way. The product range is constantly expanding and the Group now has the ability to source, deliver and install almost any aftermarket motoring-related product.

The client base of Chameleon includes some of the leading UK top 500 companies, several major cellular networks, leasing companies, high street retail chains and a base of over 600 active dealers. From its central base in Colchester, Essex here are a few statistics from the Chameleon UK operation:
